As of April 29, 2009, human cases of Swine Flu have been confirmed in the USA, Mexico, Canada and six other countries worldwide and have been suspected in many other nations. Deaths have been reported in the US and Mexico.
The World Health Organization warned that the swine flu outbreak is moving closer to becoming a pandemic, and raised its pandemic alert to phase 5 (phase 6 is the highest in the scale; it is for a full-scale pandemic).
